It’s ripe and fruity like a South African Chenin Blanc, though with far fewer food miles.
Tasting note
Bright, straw colour with flavours of peach and apple. Fruity, made to drink now.
Food pairing
Excellent with fresh summer salads, grilled fish and seafood.
The producer
The estate was founded by (winemaker) Dorina’s German father after he was shipwrecked off the Portuguese coast and fell in love with the region. Dorina, who trained at the prestigious Geisenheim, joined in the 1990’s.
The estate brings Northern European rigour to the generous flavours of the Alentejo. Precision, patience, and restraint sit alongside sun and warmth.
Today, Dorina runs Quinta da Plansel with her daughters, forming a quietly confident women-led winery. Their wines reflect that dual heritage: Both disciplined and expressive.
