Why stock this wine?
A pure example of a ripe, southern Portuguese white. Very different to the Vinho Verdes of the North.
Premium branding yet entry-level pricing make this feel like excellent value on the shelf or on the table.
What’s it like?
Similar in style to those riper Chenin Blancs from South Africa, though it has far fewer food miles.
Tasting note
With its straw yellow colour, white peach flavour and rich texture, this wine meets the expectations of a southern Portuguese white wine. Yet the clean cut finish and accessible price point push this wine towards excellent value.
Food pairing
Perfect with shellfish, light fish, fresh salads, lemon-herb poultry, and mild soft cheeses — a versatile white that keeps every bite lively and refreshing.
The producer
Dorina Lindemann’s wines are shaped by an unusual balance. The estate was founded by her German father after he was shipwrecked off the Portuguese coast and fell in love with the region. Dorina, who trained at the prestigious Geisenheim, joined in the 1990’s.
The estate brings Northern European rigour to the generous flavours of the Alentejo. Precision, patience, and restraint sit alongside sun and warmth.
Today, Dorina runs Quinta da Plansel with her daughters, forming a quietly confident women-led winery. Their wines reflect that dual heritage: Both disciplined and expressive.
