Organic

Why stock this wine?

This is the orange wine that changes people’s minds about orange wine.

Fresh, elegant and exceptionally food-friendly, it wins over sceptics while still delighting enthusiasts. Whether poured at a tasting or recommended at the table, it’s the bottle customers remember and talk about afterwards.

Tasting note

A honeyed, aromatic, herbal orange wine which you’ll remember for all the best reasons.

Food pairing

As with most good orange wines, this is extremely food-friendly. Pair it with anything from root vegetables to spicy food or fatty charcuterie and cheese.

Sustainability

Boštjan Protner farms organically, producing many so-called natural wines. He says that while converting to organic vineyards is a challenge, starting a new vineyard organically is incredibly hard. This wine is certified organic.

Vinification

This is a premium orange wine. None of the excessive tannins or off flavours you usually risk with the category. Orange winemaking has a rich history in Slovenia, and winemaker Boštjan Protner has developed his technique over many vintages.

Instead of using all of the white grape skins for maceration, he only uses a portion of them and allows three weeks of maceration. This takes the edge off the tannins and gives more aromatic and herbal aromas.

This wine is a delight; what’s more, it’s a natural wine with grapes grown organically.
